Employee responsibilities

Interventions

The employee's Healthy Working Life Plan includes personalized recommendations to help the employee feel more comfortable, stay healthier, and continue working.

The particular recommended services depend on the employee's serious health condition, the type of job tasks the employee performs, and other factors as determined by the New York Life Group Benefit Solutions Healthy Working Life® vocational coach.

The coach will work with the employee to help overcome barriers, including providing suggestions on how to adjust their equipment, the ergonomics of their body positioning, and behavioral changes, like positional changes.

If the vocational coach feels that specialized ergonomic workplace equipment is needed to help the employee, the vocational coach will discuss specifics with the employer’s contact person. If the specialized equipment is approved, the vocational coach will coordinate the purchase and delivery of the equipment, while the employer will accept and provide any assembly. If the employer does not feel the equipment is safe or appropriate, the vocational coach will provide another recommendation.

All of these services are provided to the employee at no additional cost to the employee.
