Assessment

Once the employee has provided an authorization, he or she will be contacted to schedule and participate in an assessment. Employees are expected to act in good faith and try the recommendations made by the New York Life Group Benefit Solutions Healthy Working Life vocational coach and agreed to by the employer, unless a health condition prevents them from doing so.

The goal of the assessment is to:

  • Determine the employee’s specific needs, abilities, and restrictions.
  • Understand how limitations or restrictions impact the employee’s ability to perform job tasks.
  • Identify barriers that may prevent the employee from working healthily, safely, and comfortably.
