See what our latest class of Service Superstars did at the annual gathering held in their honor.
From May 14-17, the finest in New York Life’s service areas gathered in Chicago for the 7th annual Service Superstars recognition event.
This year, we paid tribute to over 240 service professionals hailing from 63 locations nationwide, lauding them for consistent delivery of exceptional service to clients, agents, advisors, brokers, and colleagues. These Superstars represent various service teams across both the Foundational Business (FB Operations & Shared Services, Product Solutions, Purchase Experience, and Service Experience) and the Strategic Businesses (Group Benefit Solutions, Group Membership Association Division, Institutional Annuities, Institutional Life, New York Life Direct, and New York Life Investment Management).
Under the theme “Dream, Dare, Deliver,” this year's event was all about encouraging our Superstars to dream big, be bold, and take the steps to accomplish their goals as they recognize the profound impact they have on the lives of those they serve. The event was packed with a blend of career workshops, networking events, speakers, a leadership panel, a volunteer activity to benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago, and an architecture river cruise. Briana Scurry, two-time Olympic gold medalist and goalkeeper on the U.S. women’s soccer team that won the 1999 World Cup, gave an inspiring keynote speech.
“Hearing Briana’s dream of becoming an Olympic gold medalist as a young girl and her perseverance through numerous obstacles to achieve her goal was incredibly inspiring,” said Martin Montes, Service Superstar from NYL Direct. “After her speech, we had an opportunity to meet her, get autographed copies of her book, and see her gold medals up close – what an unforgettable experience!”
After the event, Aaron Ball, co-head of the Foundational Business, and Alain Karaoglan, head of the Strategic Businesses, each hosted virtual sessions with the Superstars in their respective areas to hear about their experiences, what they learned, and how they plan to apply these insights. Many said they left the Superstars event with new connections, inspiration to invest further in their careers, and a desire to share their learnings with their teams.
“The Superstars event was truly amazing!” summed up Darrell Howard, FB Operations & Shared Services. “Thank you for this experience and the extra motivation to continue to do great things for such a great organization!”
