New York Life celebrates our summer interns.
New York Life | July 25, 2024
Since 2017, the last Thursday of every July has been designated National Intern Day, a time to celebrate and recognize the contributions of young people as they explore potential careers.
This summer, New York Life welcomed nearly 235 interns across the company, from data science to actuarial to communications. These young people are getting a glimpse of what it’s like to be in the business world while also becoming integral members of their teams for the few weeks that they’re here.
Getting involved
Our interns participated in a volunteer event hosted by the New York Life Foundation to mark National Intern Day. The interns decorated 130 sweet cases on behalf of the nonprofit Foster Love to support children in foster care by replacing trash bags with custom duffle bags for their personal belongings. The activity also provided participants with a chance to meet our Executive Officers and to socialize with one another.
Career Day
Our interns also took part in Career Day where they were given the opportunity to participate in professional development activities such as a resume workshop, a presentation skills seminar, and completing the Clifton Strengths assessment to measure their unique talents. Thanks to participation from some our senior leaders, including Chief Human Resources Officer Joanne Rodgers and Co-Head of the Foundational Business Mark Madgett, Career Day was a resounding success for our budding professionals.

As we attract exceptional talent each year, we remain committed to refining our early careers experience, ensuring it aligns with the high bar set by our intern cohorts.”
