It’s one of our biggest employee events of the year: the Data+Analytics+AI Expo, which  showcases how New York Life is using data, analytics, artificial intelligence (AI), and generative AI (GenAI) across the company.

The event was hosted by the company’s AI & Data team. More than 120 New York Life colleagues presented across 39 different booths. On top of this, over 500 employees attended in person in the Home Office in New York City on Oct. 24, 2024, while over 220 employees attended virtually via livestreaming.

Many of the projects on display were co-presented by both business and analytics and AI teams, highlighting their close collaboration and collective impact. Their work extended across all facets of the company and were grouped under three key areas: New York Life’s Foundational Business, Strategic Businesses, and general capabilities.

Many projects focused on the use, or potential use, of GenAI. In this area, there was a lot to explore, from enterprise knowledge management tools that can drive efficiency and productivity, to everyday GenAI tools designed to empower our employees in their daily work.

The booths also covered many other aspects of AI, data science, and data, which are helping to enable areas across the company. These diverse topics ranged from how New York Life is harnessing geospatial assets, to underwriting modernization efforts with straight-through processing, to predictive models that inform our marketing efforts.
