From ideas to innovation: See highlights from New York Life's latest employee hackathon.

For several years, New York Life has held hackathons for employees to support experimentation while sparking creativity and innovation. These hackathons are opportunities for employees to collaborate and work in new ways to solve real business challenges with out-of-the-box thinking. This past fall’s NYL Hack 2024 featured three challenge tracks:

1. Sustainability and Philanthropy: Leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) to positively affect New York Life’s sustainability or philanthropic workforce engagement efforts
2. Build-a-GPT: Using custom GPTs (a kind of AI) to enhance a process or function to make individuals and teams more efficient, creative, or innovative, while delivering an improved user experience or business value
3. NYL Investments: Enhancing, simplifying, or improving the employee experience at New York Life Investments to make everyday tasks more seamless and efficient while driving better business outcomes

Dozens of teams assembled and got to work, but only one winning team would be selected from each challenge track. Watch highlights of NYL Hack 2024 in the video above and see the winning entries and what all the excitement was about.
