Life Claims Portal Update
Increased adoption. Expanding services.
Since launching our life claims portal last December, we have seen adoption by hundreds of employers1, ranging from large corporations to small businesses. In addition, this we’ve seen significantly reduced administrative time, from submission to payout by nearly 40%1.
Our claims portal simplifies the process for beneficiaries and significantly reduces administrative tasks for employers with easy document uploads and notifications for HR teams and beneficiaries.
Upcoming additions: AD&D and waiver of premium
We will be expanding capabilities within the portal to include the intake of accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D), accelerated death benefit and waiver of premium claims. It currently supports life claims, including express pay for life claims up to $100,000 without requiring a death certificate, with certain restrictions.

We continue to support beneficiaries beyond the claim with guidance from our specialists and resources, including:
- Loss support for the entire family
Through the site, employees and beneficiaries can access a variety of services from Empathy2, who specialize in guiding beneficiaries through the practical and emotional challenges following a loss. - Survivor Support Specialists
Our dedicated team of survivor support specialists is available for one-on-one guidance, providing beneficiaries assistance before, during, or after the loss of a loved one. - Resources from The New York Life Foundation
The New York Life Foundation offers valuable resources, including programs and materials tailored for children and families who have experienced loss.
Employer benefits
To date, our portal has delivered a 25% decrease in requests for additional information.1 Registration is easy, requiring just a simple sign-in and answering a few dropdown menu questions.
Employers can also take advantage of Life & AD&D claim reporting through myNYLGBS, which features custom claim status updates.
