New York Life and our Early Career Talent Acquisition team have been honored with the 2025 Handshake Early Talent Award. Handshake is the largest early talent network, connecting more than 17 million students, alumni and employers. This recognition demonstrates our success in supporting early career professionals and confirms the effectiveness of our approach to identifying and developing future industry leaders.

“I’m thrilled to be part of a team that’s leading the charge in connecting with and elevating early career talent,” said Seldric Blocker, Corporate Vice President, head of Programmatic Talent Acquisition at New York Life. “Receiving the 2025 Handshake Early Talent Award is a testament to the hard work and dedication we’ve put into supporting and developing emerging talent. It’s incredible to see the impact our efforts have on shaping the future of our workforce.”

Beyond traditional recruitment
New York Life’s strategy is to go beyond traditional recruitment to create genuine connections through engaging outreach and meaningful relationship-building with candidates. Our approach ensures that early career professionals feel valued from the start, fostering a strong pipeline of future leaders.

A program that makes an impact
New York Life’s internship program is more than just a summer opportunity — it’s a foundation for long-term career success. Our comprehensive internship program offers exposure to industry professionals, hands-on learning and the chance to contribute to impactful projects from day one. Many interns transition into full-time roles, helping to shape the future of our workforce.

Why it matters
Out of nearly 1 million employers on Handshake, we stood out for our brand presence, outreach efforts and ability to build strong relationships with early career professionals. As a leading job platform for Gen Z, Handshake connects top employers from the U.S. and Europe with the next generation of talent. This award reinforces New York Life’s reputation as a top employer for early career professionals.

Driving meaningful experiences
Investing in early career talent is integral to New York Life’s culture, fostering a dynamic environment where learning and development are prioritized, driving long-term organizational excellence. Our interns and early career employees contribute to real projects that shape our business, gain valuable professional development and connect with industry leaders.

“I think New York Life’s approach to developing early talent stands out because of its emphasis on direct exposure to experienced professionals and even senior executives,” said Yukta Murjani, a Tax Associate in New York Life’s Corporate Finance Department who started at the company as an intern. “New York Life fosters an environment where interns can engage with and learn from senior leaders. This level of interaction provided me with incredible insight into high-level decision-making, allowed me to gain a broader vision of corporate finance at the company and helped me refine some of my career goals.”

Looking ahead
While applications for our summer internship program have closed, we’re excited to welcome our next cohort soon. As we continue expanding early career opportunities, we remain committed to attracting and developing top talent.
