NEW YORK - New York Life today announced its appointment of Glenn Macdonald to head its Stable Value Investment Only (SVIO) business. In this role, Mr. Macdonald, a 30-year industry veteran, will lead the business groups focused on providing unique solutions to Defined Contribution, Defined Benefit, Non-Qualified and 529 Plans through Consultants, Financial Advisors, Recordkeeping Platforms and Program Managers. Macdonald will report to David Cruz, Head of Institutional Annuities at New York Life.

Mr. Macdonald joined New York Life in 2010 and has 30 years of experience in the Qualified Retirement Plan and Investment Management industries. Prior to joining New York Life, Macdonald spent 16 years with Fidelity Investments and most recently served as Vice President and Northeast Regional Sales Relationship Manager for Pyramis Global Advisors. Glenn received a B.A. in Business Administration from St. Anselm College and a certificate in Financial Planning from Boston University. Macdonald is a Certified Financial Planner®, holds the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (formerly NASD) Series 7 and 63 licenses and is a nationally licensed insurance producer.
Macdonald succeeds Kevin Mansfield who has retired from the company.
