NEW YORK – New York Life announced today that Richard White has joined New York Life’s Retail Life business as Chief Data Officer. In this newly created role, Mr. White will be responsible for developing and overseeing the implementation of data strategy and data governance on behalf of the Retail Life business. He will report to Alex Cook, Chief Data and Analytics Officer and Head of Retail Life.

Mr. White and his team will play an important role in enabling data-driven decision making across the enterprise, working collaboratively with business leaders and technology to help achieve Retail Life’s strategic goals.
Mr. White will closely partner with Glenn Hofmann, who has been named Chief Analytics Officer within Retail Life. Mr. Hofmann will continue to lead the Center for Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, a specialized team that provides data science and artificial intelligence expertise, solutions, and education to business partners across the company.
Previously, Mr. White served as Vice President of Data and Analytics for the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, where he was responsible for defining and developing enterprise data management capabilities. Prior to that, he served as the Director of Enterprise Data Governance for the global Chief Data Office of Citigroup, where he was responsible for managing the bank’s strategic data assets. He also has held leadership roles in data management at AXA Equitable and American International Group.
Mr. White received a Bachelor of Science from York College of Pennsylvania.
