New York Life Names Four College Agent Interns as Summer Sales Contest Winners

Students Recognized For Sales Achievements As They Explore Career as Insurance Agents

NEW YORK, N.Y., April 18, 2006 — New York Life Insurance Company announced today the winners of the company's annual College Agent Intern Program Summer Sales Contest. The winners are students who as summer interns submitted the highest number of client applications to purchase a New York Life insurance policy from June 1 – September 30 in four geographic regions. Winners were recognized at an annual dinner in March.

"New York Life is proud to recognize these college agent interns, who took advantage of the College Agent Intern Program giving them an exceptional opportunity to explore a career in the life insurance industry," said Kirsten McKaskle, senior college recruiting consultant, New York Life. "The four winners in this contest demonstrated their ability to effectively juggle the demands of their college coursework with the commitment necessary to be successful in the agent intern program at New York Life."

In this program, interns obtain the skills they need to become successful agents through regular one-on-one contact with agent mentors, as well as the active involvement of New York Life managers. During the program, students are able to obtain their agent license and begin working with clients.

The College Agent Intern Program Summer Sales Contest winners are:

The Pacific Zone winner, Aaron Hill, is a senior attending the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah. Jeffrey Monson, his recruiter, who also joined New York Life through the intern program served as his mentor;
The West Central Zone winner, Ricardo Guerrero, is a senior attending the University of Texas, El Paso. Mike Perez, an agent in the El Paso office and Joel Jankowski, his recruiter, served as his mentors;
The South Central Zone winner, Benjamin Jatlow, is a senior attending the College of Charleston, in Charleston, South Carolina. Eric Cox, senior partner in the Charleston office, served as his mentor;
The Northeast Zone winner, Giovanni Bresciani, is a senior attending State University of New York at Albany. Mr. Bresciani interned at the Queens, New York office.
