NEW YORK, N.Y., March 31, 2006 — New York Life Insurance Company announced that John J. O'Gara and Nicholas E. Pasyanos have been promoted to vice presidents in the Individual Life department, reporting to senior vice president Scott Berlin.
Mr. O'Gara is now responsible for managing the life consultant team, working with New York Life's agents and field management to provide the support necessary to increase life sales. He has held sales and marketing positions within NYLIFE Securities and in 1997 was asked to join the Individual Life department as a Life Product Consultant. In 2000, he was promoted to regional manager for life product sales.
Mr. O'Gara earned a B.S. in business and finance from Iona College. He currently resides in New Fairfield, Connecticut, with his wife, Theresa and three children.
Mr. Pasyanos is now lead pricing actuary, responsible for all life product pricing and financial results for the company's life insurance products. Additionally, he works with all areas of the company, bringing product ideas from the design stage to implementation. Previously, he was responsible for pricing a complete portfolio of immediate and deferred annuity products, and the asset/liability management of fixed annuity portfolios, encompassing more than $15 billion of general account assets and liabilities.
Mr. Pasyanos earned a B.S. in mathematics and economics from SUNY at Binghamton. He currently resides in Melville, New York with his wife, Michelle and two sons.
