In recognition of the ongoing involvement of New York Life agents, employees and retirees in community-based nonprofit organizations, the Foundation makes grants to local grassroots agencies with which they volunteer their time. In general, grants of up to $500 are made. However, organizations whose mission and purpose are directed toward serving children may receive up to a maximum of $1,000. Grants are unrestricted, for general operating purposes.
In 2007, 139 organizations received grants totaling $129,500 under this program. Click here for a list of 2007 Local Volunteer Action Program Grants. .
